The
firm of Joseph L. Calabrese, P.C. has been selected to
serve as structural
special inspector for the $17 million 50,000
SF Addition to the ECSU Student
Center. Eastern Connecticut State University’s existing
Student Center is
undergoing a total renovation, with the construction of
an additional 50,000 SF of
usable space. The new Center boasts a new and improved
snack bar, campus
bookstore, theater, an extended-hours evening cafe, kitchen
facilities and a
5,000 SF fitness center, all located on two levels. The
new Student Center will
connect on two sides to the existing Athletic/Sport Center.
Seven new meeting
rooms accommodate student clubs and organizations while
the Student
Government, Campus Activity Board, Unity Center and a Women’s
Center
maintain office space in the lower level of the facility. Completion is scheduled
for the 2007 academic year.
