History
The firm of Joseph L. Calabrese, P.C. was
formed as a Subchapter S corporation in 1981 when
Joseph L. Calabrese launched the first structural engineering
practice to be located within
the City of Waterbury, Connecticut.

Prior
to 1981, Mr. Calabrese gained invaluable experience while
employed as a structural engineer at two major
CT architectural & engineering firms, URS
Corporation (formerly Cahn Engineers)
and Fletcher-Thompson. While employed
at these firms, Joseph L. Calabrese was the lead structural
engineer on many complex structural projects.

Since its inception in 1981, the firm has provided
quality professional services on projects throughout Connecticut:
office buildings, K-12 schools, libraries, universities, museums,
churches, residence halls, hotels, parking structures, apartment
buildings, municipal buildings, medical facilities, industrial
buildings, historic restorations, and commercial buildings.
Out of state projects include the seismic retrofit design
of an Electron Beam Technology Facility for Perkin-Elmer
in Hayward,
California. The firm is also the structural engineer of record
for various projects in New York State and Massachusetts.
In addition to Structural
Engineering services,
Joseph L. Calabrese, P.C. also provides Independent
Peer Review and Special Inspection services.
