Special Inspections - History

Since 1989 Joseph L. Calabrese, P.C. has served as Special Inspector on major construction projects including: office buildings, K-12 schools, public works projects, hotels, university projects, parking structures, libraries, theaters, and large commercial / industrial projects.

The Process

The design professional prepares a Statement of Special Inspections that must be submitted by the Owner to the Building Official at the time of application for the building permit. The Special Inspector and testing laboratory are designated at that time.

The Special Inspector prepares and submits interim reports to the Architect, Engineer of Record, and Building Official during construction. At completion of the project the Final Report of Special Inspections is submitted as certification that the special inspections have been performed. This signed statement is required prior to issuance of certificate of use and occupancy.
